US takes Euro inspiration

July 15th, 2011 by admin

As established comedians such as vic reeves influence the younger generation of comedians, changing the way the comic scene works as a whole, all music genres take influences from each other in order to develop new sounds and even new genres themselves.

Metal music combined with rap and hip hop gave life to nu-metal, with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park taking full advantage of this phenomenon in the Noughties.

However, it has been rare for the United States, where so many UK bands and artists are so desperate to crack, to take such a heavy influence from European style music, as has been the case in the last 12 months.
Hip hop, which is big business across the Atlantic, has seen an influx of Euro dance music riffs and beats, which has become an extremely popular combination.

Jennifer Lopez, with her latest track ‘Get on the Floor’ feat Pitbull, has an intro which takes its influence straight from the Ibiza dance scene.

The latest work from hip hop and r&b star Chris Brown with his newest offering ‘Beautiful People’ has another classic Euro dance intro, which wouldn’t be out of place on the dance islands of the Mediterranean.
Both tracks have been big success on both sides of the pond and have set a precedent for what kind of sounds we can expect from US hip hop artists in the future.

For European dance fans, these riffs and beats are nothing new, but when combined with established American artists, the music we are hearing at the moment is something that will build and build as the US market catches up with the Ibiza classic sound listeners in Europe have been partying to for decades.

Massive Attack Angel

November 11th, 2008 by admin

I love this pioneering force behind the rise of trip-hopgrope grope. They were were among the most innovative and influential groups of their generation and that’s right. I love their charm and really hypnotic sound — a darkly sensual and cinematic fusion of hip-hop rhythms, soulful melodies, dub grooves, and choice samples.

You are my angel
Come from way above
To bring me love

Her eyes
Shes on the dark side
Neutralize every man in sight

Love you, love you, love you…

You are my angel
Come from way above

Love you, love you, love you…

Shakira.

February 27th, 2008 by admin

Born on February 2, 1977 in Barranquilla, Columbia, Shakira is a well-known Latin pop singer was born into a large family with a mother of Spanish and Catalan descent and a father of Lebanese and Macedonian descent.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqeuSWTgtQo]
At the age of 15, Shakira’s first album, Magia, did not do well and less than a thousand
copies were purchased. This was mostly due to the fact that the recording and production of the album was not coordinated. However, since Shakira’s success, this album is now considered to be sought-after by many collectors. The second album, Peligro, did better, however, at this point Shakira took a break and decided to put her time into high school
and graduation. Five more albums would come through before Shakira became the star she is today. In 2001, she was back in and working on an album that was a crossover
to English. Working with Gloria Estafan, she worked on Dónde Están los Ladrones and another album, Laundry Service. Laundry Service was a hit and selling over 13 million, Shakira became a household word with her hit, “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes”.

Since Laundry Service, Shakira has put out another six more albums and continues to shine. She is noted for her belly dancing skills, which many claim it to be natural to her
as she comes from a Lebanese heritage. The fact is Shakira can dance like no other
and watching a video of her, you’ll see why she wrote the song, ”

The Latin Grammy Award winning Colombian, Shakira has decided to tie knots with her beau, Antonio De La Rua, in September this year.

The two well known figures were going around from last seven years. Shakira is a singer, musician, songwriter etc. whereas Antonio is a lawyer and the first son of the Argentine former President Fernando de la Rua, yet the two gel up very well. It is also heard that the big wedding will “be taking place at Shakira’s luxury mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.”
Hips Don’t Lie”.
